We’re seeking a highly experienced Architect/Principal Developer to lead the design, development, and evolution of our core software systems. In this dual-role position, you will act as both a strategic architect and a hands-on technical leader, driving best practices, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering high-quality code.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, product leadership, and customers to build a next generation application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems and core applications.
  • Incorporate AI capabilities where they can enhance efficiency, accuracy, or user experience.
  • Lead the building of our next generation data ingestion processes and tools.
  • Assist in the operation of test and production environments on AWS.
  • Work with DevOps pipelines and best practices.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies, patterns, and tools that improve the system and developer productivity.
  • Drive decisions on cloud infrastructure, database design, API architecture, and data flow.
  • Guide technical direction for key projects and ensure adherence to architecture principles.
  • Design and document scalable software solutions and system integrations.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform code reviews for critical components.
  • Ensure testing meets best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Define or expand requirements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product roadmaps and technical milestones.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical authority.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a formal software architect or principal engineer role.
  • Embrace change with a growth mindset, adapting quickly to evolving business priorities and technology shifts.
  • Take a hands-on approach, doing what needs to be done to ensure team and company success.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., NodeJS, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
  • Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL), message queues, and scaling data pipelines.
  • Expertise in system design, cloud-native architecture (AWS), and distributed computing.
  • Deep understanding of API design, security, CI/CD, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SaaS and enterprise-scale products.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and serverless.
  • Knowledge of architectural standards (e.g., Domain-Driven Design).
