Data Analyst

About You

You are a highly analytical Data Analyst with strong business orientation and the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights. You thrive in environments where you can design meaningful dashboards, define business metrics, and support decision-making through data storytelling.
You excel at working with SQL, Looker, and cloud data warehouses, and you collaborate closely with Data Engineering and business stakeholders to ensure data consistency, quality, and usability across the organization.

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar analytical role.
• Advanced SQL expertise, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Looker, including: LookML modeling, Explores, Dashboard development
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses, ideally BigQuery (GCP).
• Solid understanding of applied statistics: Descriptive measures, Trend analysis, Segmentation, Group comparisons.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear KPIs, metrics, and visualizations.
• Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and guiding them through insights interpretation.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and business storytelling skills.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably GCP.
• Ability to maintain high standards of data quality, documentation, and metric consistency.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports in Looker, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with business goals.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined KPIs, metrics, and actionable visualizations.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for analytical use cases in production environments.
• Validate data quality, consistency, lineage, and availability across reporting pipelines.
• Define, document, and evolve business metrics in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Support business users in understanding dashboards and interpreting insights.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams to: Improve and adjust data models, Request new tables, views, or curated metrics, Identify and resolve performance or data-quality issues.
• Apply descriptive and comparative statistics for trend analysis, segmentation, and decision support.
• Ensure adherence to data visualization best practices and strong storytelling principles.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and oversee the catalog of dashboards and data definitions.
