Summary:
The Office of Digital Learning & Strategy (ODLS) uses the latest educational technology and resources to support AU faculty in the development, design and delivery of the highest quality online educational experiences. We are seeking a detail oriented, creative, self-starter to join our team and support Instructional Designers in the development of online courses in Canvas. This role is an exciting opportunity for a current student interested in understanding the instructional design process and utilizing various instructional technology tools to develop online courses in a university setting.
Essential Functions:
- Work with ODLS instructional designers and media specialists to design and develop new courses and revise existing courses in Canvas.
- Develop engaging course assets utilizing instructional technology tools such as H5P and PlayPosIt.
- Review courses for quality and alignment to the design strategy.
- Complete special projects as assigned, typically surrounding the development of course assets.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time.
- Student.
- Please be advised that this position is fully remote.
- We ask for a commitment of about 15 hours per week, with no more than 20 hours per week.
- This is a semester-long appointment with the option to continue based on university funding.
- Due to recent employment restrictions, all applicants must currently reside in the United States.
Salary Range:
- $20-$22/hr. (commensurate with experience).

- A current American University student.
- Organized, proactive, and have a meticulous eye for detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Committed to delivering a high-quality online student experience.
