We are building a global team that values innovation, impact, and collaboration. As part of a scaling FinTech company, every person on our team has the opportunity to shape our future, influence our products, and make a real difference for our customers.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a Manager, Business Development to join our Sales team and help us build, lead, and scale a high-performing outbound organization that consistently delivers pipeline growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on coaching sales talent, building scalable outbound processes, and leading from the front, and wants to take a hands-on role in shaping sales strategy, driving experimentation, and developing future sales leaders.

This role is available to candidates who are currently located and eligible to work in Canada. We operate in a hybrid environment and this role should be in office 4-5 days per week downtown Toronto.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute on building and scaling a world-class BDR team, owning performance against activity metrics and pipeline targets.

  • Coach BDRs through call reviews, live feedback, messaging refinement, and personalized development plans to improve outreach quality and conversion.

  • Build repeatable outbound processes from the ground up, including prospecting guidelines, talk tracks, email sequences, objection handling frameworks, and qualification criteria.

  • Lead by example by actively prospecting alongside the team, maintaining strong CRM hygiene, and modeling resilience, energy, and accountability.

  • Own event-based pipeline generation by preparing for and attending trade shows and conferences, enabling BDRs to maximize pre- and post-event outreach and follow-up.

  • Partner closely with Sales Leadership to monitor funnel performance, identify risks early, and implement proactive action plans to protect pipeline and revenue targets.

  • Analyze outbound data (contact rates, response rates, meeting set rates, handoff quality) and continuously test and optimize messaging, channels, and approaches.

  • Collaborate with Business Operations to optimize CRM workflows, improve data quality, and implement tools and automation that increase team efficiency.

  • Develop competitive intelligence, battle cards, and objection-handling frameworks to help BDRs differentiate effectively in the market.

  • Own recruiting, onboarding, and enablement for new BDR hires, setting clear success criteria and accelerating time-to-impact.

  • Maintain a strong feedback loop with Marketing and Product to ensure ICP alignment, relevant messaging, and market insights are reflected across the organization.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in sales development or outbound sales, including 2+ years managing or leading BDR/SDR teams.

  • Strong expertise in outbound sales methodologies, prospecting strategies, and pipeline generation.

  • Proven ability to build scalable processes while maintaining a scrappy, high-ownership startup mindset.

  • Experience coaching sales reps through data-driven feedback, call reviews, and real-time enablement.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear action plans.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, challenge, and support a diverse team.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach and comfort making tough decisions with integrity.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in FinTech, payments, or SaaS environments.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales engagement tools, and prospecting platforms.

  • Experience partnering closely with Business Operations, Marketing, and Product teams.

  • Track record of building training programs, playbooks, or sales enablement frameworks.

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary tailored to your experience, skills, and expertise.

  • The total compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 OTE (CAD), plus equity.

    • The range displayed reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position. Individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, and education/training.
