Role Description
We are looking for two future experts to join our family of amazing people in the Motor Engineer Services Team as an Apprentice Motor Engineer.

As this apprenticeship involves continuous learning, you’ll need to be committed, disciplined, and comfortable managing your own time and development, we will provide additional training and development through a comprehensive apprenticeship programme supported via an industry recognised training provider.
We’ll support all aspects of the apprenticeship through to becoming a fully qualified Motor Engineer, including applications to the Institute of Engineer Assessors, Institute of the Motor Industry, Salvage AQP Qualification and Vehicle Damage Assessor qualification.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you’ll be assigned a defined geographical area forming part of a UK-wide team, you will be required to work remotely from home with a mix of desk and physical inspections when required. The ratio of desk to physical will vary depending on the needs of the business. You will be responsible for negotiating the method and cost of repair, dealing with total loss cases and providing expert guidance to our stakeholders and customers. You'll work in partnership with local network and non-network repairers to give great outcomes for our customer and Allianz
The apprenticeship is expected to take a minimum of 2 years subject to previous experience
This role is Home based but with the occasional need to travel to one of our claim's centres or external training providers with some possible overnight stays.
About You
Desirable but not essential skills and experience include a level 2 qualification or above in a mechanical or body related discipline.
Practical experience gained by physically working on/with motor vehicles in either a body or mechanical scenario.
Basic understanding/awareness of vehicle systems such as brakes, steering, suspension, electrics and engine/transmission.
Alternatively, an understanding of body repair such as panel repair techniques, hot and cold joining processes, panel replacement and different materials.
Alternative qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
Additionally
IT literate, familiar with a PC and tablet/smartphone for general tasks such as:
•Accessing and navigating the internet
•Logging into computer programmes
•Logging into apps and uploading information
•Negotiation skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Ability to adapt to differing situations and ways of working
