Identity Security Intern Build the Future of Secure Access

Join our Identity Security Team and help strengthen our organization's security posture across Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Non-Human Identity (NHI) posture management. As an intern, you'll work on real-world projects that improve how identities are protected, monitored and managed across Akamai.

As a participant in our program, you will gain valuable experience and contribute through meaningful project work. You will have the opportunity to join us for training, networking events, and engagements with company leadership. Our internships are open to students and graduates.

This internship is designed for students and recent graduates who want hands-on experience in identity security, automation, and data - driven security engineering. You'll gain exposure to modern identity platforms, analytics and security best practices - all while building skills that matter in today's cybersecurity landscape.

As an Identity Security Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and enhancing tools using Python and Linux to improve identity visibility, connectivity, and security
• Using Python, REST API, GraphQL, Pandas, and data analysis techniques to process logs, identity events, and access data
• Building dashboards, reports, and metrics to help measure and improve identity security posture
• Supporting initiatives around SSO, MFA and NHI posture management
• Learning how to automate identity and security workflows to improve infrastructure protection
• Gaining hands-on experience with Linux administration, secure system configurations, and identity security best practices

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be an active student in a Bachelor's program
• Have experience in Linux systems, security, and development
• Have familiarity with Python or another scripting language
• Understand basic security principles and system administration
• Have curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn
• Have ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Work in a way that works for you

Our 6-month intern program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December).

This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised). We are happy to discuss working options in this role and encourage you to speak with your recruiter in more details when you apply.
