A-TEK Inc. is seeking a skilled and certified Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery across cross-functional teams in a dynamic, government-regulated environment. The ideal candidate is an experienced Agile practitioner with a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), excellent facilitation skills, and the ability to foster team collaboration and efficiency.
The successful candidate will bring a passion for Agile practices, a track record of delivering successful projects, and a drive to enable continuous improvement. This is a fully remote role requiring a high level of communication, organization, and leadership in supporting medium-to-large teams within a regulated or government-centric setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring effective Agile practices are followed.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support Product Owners in managing product backlogs and grooming user stories.
- Guide teams on Agile principles and foster a culture of self-organization and accountability.
- Identify and remove impediments to the team’s progress while helping the team remain focused and productive.
- Drive continuous improvement and the effective use of Agile metrics for decision-making and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, and stakeholders to align practices and share learnings across the organization.
- Promote transparency and trust across teams and stakeholders through regular communication and visible progress tracking.
- Use and configure Agile project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification required.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably within government or regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, federal agencies).
- Demonstrated experience implementing Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe®, across cross-functional development teams.
- Solid knowledge of Agile best practices, backlog management, estimation techniques, and iterative delivery.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery within technical projects.
- Proficiency in using Agile management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Agile certifications such as PMI-ACP, SAFe® Scrum Master, or ICAgile are a plus.
- Previous experience coaching or mentoring Agile teams and managing inter-team dependencies in scaled Agile environments.
- Experience with Agile transformation or adoption initiatives in government or regulated settings.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Public Trust Tier 2 Moderate Risk Clearance.
- This is a remote position; candidates must be comfortable with distributed team collaboration and willing to attend periodic meetings in the DC metro area.
