I am an experienced software engineering manager with a strong background in Scala and Python. Currently, I am working at Cognira, a SaaS company in Tunis, where I lead a team of three engineers in designing and developing ML-embedded solutions for retailers to optimize their promotions. One of my notable achievements is leading the development of a Scala-based online forecaster capable of predicting retail promotions demand and redemptions for up to 500 products, 100 stores, and 6 months duration in less than 60 seconds.
In addition to my technical skills, I have also played a key role in establishing a Scala Spark framework to define retail metrics and their calculations, resulting in a more consistent and readable code base. I have also contributed to the implementation of Spark batch pipelines for data ingestion and transformation, as well as mentoring and hiring software and data engineers.
