Xenia Hoderlein
@xeniahoderlein
Medical researcher and physician trainee studying global surgery, infectious diseases, and healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings.
What I'm looking for
I’ve built my clinical research experience across global surgery and global health, from the Global Surgery Division at the University of Oxford to fieldwork in Tamale, Ghana. I coordinated international research activities across multidisciplinary teams and supported clinical data collection, management, and interpretation.
At DAAD RISE Research Internship in Global Health / Infectious Diseases, I conducted clinical research on G6PD deficiency in pregnancy in a resource-limited setting—handling patient testing, data collection, and study documentation. Earlier, as a Research Assistant at University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (Neurology), I supported patient data collection and management.
Alongside my MD equivalent training at the University of Hamburg, I’ve also had international clinical exposure in surgery, internal medicine, and global health settings across South Africa, Argentina, Cambodia, Uganda, and Tanzania. I’m especially interested in healthcare delivery in resource-constrained environments and research that connects clinical work to accessible care.
