Data Analyst II at NORC building survey dashboards and automating reproducible analytical products.

United States
Message

At NORC at the University of Chicago, I develop and maintain R data processes for sample monitoring of the General Social Survey and the National Survey of Early Care and Education.

I build and support interactive dashboards in R Shiny, Power BI, and Tableau, including the Live Crime Tracker and internal tools for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I automated recurring analytical products and email notifications using R and Runbook Automation. I also developed an application to help department leadership track professional development funding and improve the employee funding request process.

Earlier, I developed an R package for gauge R&R analysis and reusable modeling workflows at Carleton College. During an ORISE internship, I applied quantitative modeling to oceanographic data and implemented simulations in Delft3D and MATLAB.

Work history, roles, and key accomplishments

DC

Mathematics TA/Grader

Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Carleton College

Sep 2020 - Jun 2023 (2 years 9 months)

Supported instruction in calculus and linear algebra and graded papers for students in those classes. Facilitated office hours and created practice problems to help students get additional practice with course material.

DC

Statistics Student Researcher

Department of Mathematics & Statistics, Carleton College

Jun 2022 - Aug 2022 (2 months)

Developed an R package implementing statistical models for gauge R&R analysis using the tidymodels framework. Designed and documented reusable modeling workflows for testing the package functions in collaboration with the PI.
