Stian Nordvik

I'm a fullstack developer with 2.5 years of professional experience, focused on building robust, maintainable systems across backend and frontend. My core strengths are Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, .NET and React, and I enjoy owning work end-to-end, from cloud infrastructure and APIs to user-facing components.

At Norway's largest bank, DNB, I contributed to the Azure migration and modernization of critical payment systems. On one large-scale project responsible for 100+ applications across a team of 30+ developers, I extended transaction support to UK and German markets and improved local testing by setting up a Docker environment connecting multiple applications. On another, I architected and led the migration of a Java Spring Boot application from on-premises to Azure Cloud, refactoring code and APIs for compatibility with Azure SQL and Blob Storage and delivering it to production.

More recently I've built production workflows from scratch, including a Kotlin and Spring Boot API with Podman containerization, Flyway database migrations and a full CI/CD pipeline. I've also worked on public-sector tooling, modernizing a financial decision-support application for Bergen Municipality.

I'm motivated by clean architecture, reliable delivery and systems that are easy to maintain and scale. I work well both independently and in distributed teams, and I'm now looking for fully remote opportunities.
