Data Scientist at Business and Data Analytics Consulting Services building API endpoints and ETL workflows.
What I'm looking for
At Business and Data Analytics Consulting Services, I work as a Data Scientist on data science and analytics, including data visualization and building API endpoints and ETL workflows.
In earlier data science projects, I extracted and cleaned data, tested models such as kNN and neural networks, and analyzed and visualized results. My work also included statistical analysis, time series analysis, and optimization.
As a Senior Data Scientist for a Swedish start-up company, I built tools to automate data collection and reporting, owned the data mining process, and worked with the Product team to define R&D requirements.
My Ph.D. research at the University of Johannesburg focused on disjunctive domination in graphs, resulting in several publications. I enjoy applying mathematics and statistical programming to data science and analysis; my main tools are Python and R.

University of Johannesburg
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Mathematics
2013 - 2015
Research thesis entitled: Disjunctive Domination in Graphs (Funded by the South African National Research Foundation and awarded a merit bursary)
This thesis is concerned with the continuation of the study of a new parameter in Domination that is motivated by concepts like distance domination and exponential domination. Several publications have resulted from this study.
University of Johannesburg
Master’s Degree, Mathematics (Markov Chains, Graph Theory)
2011 - 2013
Research dissertation entitled: Markov Chains: A Graph Theoretical Approach (Funded by the
South African National Research Foundation)
This dissertation is mostly concerned with defining concepts in Markov Chains in
Graph Theoretical terms. For this purpose, many definitions (e.g. periodicity, aperiodicity,
irreducibility, communication) were redefined by using the reachability matrix of a Markov
