@silkevereeken
Clinical psychologist and health behaviour researcher translating evidence into actionable insights.
What I'm looking for
I am a clinical psychologist and health behaviour specialist with over five years' experience in research, data analysis, and knowledge translation. I specialise in turning complex scientific evidence into clear, actionable insights for academic, healthcare, and public audiences.
As a Research Associate at the University of York, I lead data management and advanced quantitative analyses for large longitudinal and administrative health datasets, and co-author peer-reviewed publications. I also contribute to proposal development and funding applications, and (co-)lead workshops and dissemination events.
I serve as a Consultant Member for the Research Ethics Governance Committee, advising on ethical compliance, participant safeguarding, and data protection while collaborating with academic staff, legal advisors, and external partners. I have lecturing experience, creating materials for Masters and summer school programmes and mentoring international students.
I combine multidisciplinary collaboration, methodological problem-solving, and polished scientific communication with multilingual abilities and extensive volunteering in higher education sport coaching. I am passionate about bridging research and real-world application through strategic consultancy, teaching, and public-facing knowledge translation.
