Scarlett McKinney

At South College, I advise students and families on federal financial aid, interpret complex regulations, and manage high-volume files with accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.

I previously taught future paralegals at South College, covering torts, contracts, estates, real estate, business organizations, and legal research and writing. I designed ABA-aligned curriculum and practical assignments that strengthened legal analysis, advocacy, and professional writing.

Through my solo practice, The Law Office of Scarlett McKinney, PLLC, I advised clients on estate planning, elder abuse matters, LGBTQ+-sensitive issues, and federal civil-relief research. I explained statutes and legal options in ways that supported each client’s social and economic goals.

My earlier work as a paralegal, law clerk, case manager, and hearing reporter built my foundation in legal research, document drafting, client communication, Social Security matters, federal regulations, and confidential case management.
