Samar Aftab
@samaraftab1
Emergency medicine specialist focused on disaster response and acute care.
What I'm looking for
I am an emergency and disaster management specialist with clinical training across major hospitals and years leading acute response efforts. My background includes MBBS training and internships at tertiary centers, followed by residency roles handling trauma, NICU, pediatric surgery, and general surgery.
I have led large-scale emergency operations, including heading the Expo Center COVID vaccination HDU and establishing primary health units during the 2022 floods, training local teams and coordinating multi-agency patient transfers. I also run teleclinic services across the Middle East and Southeast Asia to expand access to care.
Beyond clinical work, I organize outreach medical camps with NGOs, manage a clinic as COO, and run a teaching center for diploma and certificate courses aimed at workforce reintegration and skills development. I prioritize pragmatic leadership, hands-on training, and scalable solutions in low-resource settings.
