I am Salome, an aspiring actuary with a strong interest in actuarial work, finance, and economics. I have successfully completed an actuarial program and I am currently undertaking professional exams to grow career-wise.
I bring hands-on experience from varied roles where I learned to meet employers’ expectations, be accountable for everything I do, and practice and adhere to work ethics and regulations. I’m flexible and adaptable, and I work well under minimal supervision.
I have supported analytical and finance-focused work, including designing a pension savings plan for Kenyan footballers as part of an undergraduate team—using MS Excel to price and profit test the plan. I also presented a smart-contract-based pension product at an innovation boot camp, where our group ranked 3 out of 15.
Beyond analysis, I strengthen my effectiveness through communication and leadership. I’ve taught Mathematics and Chemistry, served as a legal advisor for the Actuarial Students Society of Maseno University, and led school club activities—always enforcing rules, guiding teams, and solving problems.
