Ramya Nadig
@ramyanadig
I work across biomedical research, medical-device QA, scientific writing and policy research, turning complex information into useful insights.
What I'm looking for
I've always enjoyed figuring out how things work, asking questions, and making complex information easier to understand. That's taken me into some interesting areas, from biomedical research and medical-device quality assurance to science writing, AI policy, and public health.
My background is in biotechnology and biomedical sciences, with a B.Tech from Manipal Institute of Technology and an MSc (Merit) from the University of Dundee. I've worked on research involving antimicrobial resistance, computational drug discovery, and molecular biology, which gave me a strong foundation in investigating problems and working with scientific evidence.
Today, I work at Abbott Laboratories, investigating complaints involving continuous glucose monitoring devices. I examine returned products, carry out technical and diagnostic testing, and document findings using Salesforce and internal quality systems. I enjoy the investigative side of the role, especially connecting different pieces of evidence to understand what might have happened.
Writing and communicating science have also been important parts of my journey. I've published three articles for IE University's The Pulse on AI applications in biomedical research, contributed to science publications, and supported around 200 virtual exhibition walkthroughs at Science Gallery Bengaluru. I've also explored AI governance and biosecurity policy, supported nonprofit impact evaluation research, and taken on voluntary charity governance responsibilities.
I'm comfortable working independently and collaborating with remote, interdisciplinary teams. I'm now looking for opportunities where I can bring together research, analytical thinking, writing, and problem-solving, whether in healthcare, science, technology, policy, or mission-driven organisations.
