Muhammad Umar

I'm contributing to Global Burden of Disease estimates at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, validating methods, reviewing manuscripts, and managing population-level datasets. I apply statistical models in R to epidemiological analysis and global health metrics research.

Previously, I designed and implemented epidemiological studies as a Research Officer at Khairpur Medical College, co-authored high-impact manuscripts, and mentored junior researchers in data analysis and methodology. I've also completed clinical research training with Rutgers University and research-methodology training with Toufik's World Medical Association.

My published work spans cardio-oncology, cardiovascular mortality, artificial intelligence in healthcare, infectious disease, mental health, dermatology, and global health. I have authored systematic reviews, meta-analyses, narrative reviews, case reports, and forecasting studies using large public-health datasets.

I'm also an Academic Editor at PLOS and a reviewer for Springer Nature journals and Taylor & Francis. I enjoy translating rigorous data, evidence synthesis, and emerging health technologies into research that can inform clinical and public-health decisions.
