Muhammad suhaib
@muhammadsuhaib
I build deep learning systems that extract accessible structured information from charts, document images, and currency.
What I'm looking for
I build end-to-end deep learning systems for document image analysis, chart understanding, and Indian currency recognition, with a focus on converting non-textual visual information into structured representations.
At IIT Ropar, I designed frameworks for currency recognition under occlusion, rotation, illumination variation, and wear-and-tear, alongside chart classification and data extraction pipelines for pie charts and infographics.
My research supports accessibility for blind and visually impaired users through machine-interpretable visual information. I contributed to C3E, PiExtract, ICDRF, and IPCRF, and led the IPSA Lab team to win the ICDAR 2023 competition on harvesting answers and raw tables from infographics.
I also teach as an Assistant Professor at the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies and bring prior research experience in SDN, fog computing, latency-aware routing, resource allocation, and task offloading.
