As a Senior Auditor V/Project Manager at the Texas State Auditor’s Office, I have developed a wide range of skills in financial audits, information technology audits, compliance, and performance audits.
During my time at the Texas State Auditor’s Office, I managed and performed financial audits, information technology audits, single audits (A-133), compliance, and performance audits at state, non-profit entities and universities. I developed IT audit programs for newly implemented systems across state agencies using FISCAM, CCM, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework and COBIT as a guide. Additionally, I developed workflows in Arbutus (Data Analytics Software) and Power BI to reduce user access testing time by 28%.
I am proud to have been promoted from Auditor II to Senior Auditor V within 5 years for outstanding performances. Furthermore, I developed and taught CPE training to the office staff related to IT audits and assisted the office to implement Arbutus (Data Analytics Software) across various data-driven audits to replace Access. As a result, time to conduct data analytics on audit was reduced by an average of 57%.
My skills include conducting data analysis, performing risk assessment, writing audit reports and findings, developing client relations, project management, and process improvement. I am proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word & Visio, Microsoft Power BI, Arbutus Analyzer & ACL, TeamMate-Audit Management Software Suite, and programming languages such as JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL.
I have also obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and am currently pursuing the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) certification.
