I am a Marine Engineering graduate with a background in Industrial Engineering from Ambo University and professional training in Marine Engineering at the Ethiopian Maritime Training Institute. I have completed my maritime training and hold STCW certification and a seaman’s book. I am interested in building a long-term career in the maritime industry, particularly in marine engine operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and watchkeeping.
I am a hardworking, disciplined, responsible, and safety-conscious person. My engineering education has given me a strong foundation in mechanical and technical systems, problem-solving, technical drawing, and engineering principles. During my maritime training, I developed knowledge and practical understanding of marine diesel engines, auxiliary machinery, boilers, pumps, generators, steering gear, propulsion systems, emergency procedures, SOLAS, MARPOL, and engine-room watchkeeping.
My career goal is to start as an Engine Cadet and gain practical sea-going experience under experienced marine engineers. I want to continuously improve my technical knowledge, English communication, teamwork, and leadership skills and progress toward becoming a licensed Marine Engineer and eventually a Chief Engineer.
Outside my professional interests, I enjoy learning about technology, engineering, and practical technical work. I also have experience with technical drawing and camera work. I am interested in opportunities that allow me to learn, take responsibility, work as part of an international team, and develop a successful long-term career at sea.
