Meagan Burns
@meaganburns
Entry-level medical assistant skilled in Epic/Athenahealth documentation, patient care, and wound specialty support.
What I'm looking for
I’m a detail-oriented healthcare professional with hands-on experience in specialty and primary care settings, bringing a patient-centered mindset to every interaction. I’m passionate about advancing healthcare through evidence-based practice, clinical research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
In my medical assistant roles, I support physicians and advanced practice providers by handling patient intake and triage, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, assisting with point-of-care testing, and maintaining high standards of infection control and HIPAA compliance. I use Epic and Athenahealth to manage clinical documentation, patient charting, and provider communication while helping keep clinic operations running smoothly.
I’ve also supported specialized wound and vascular care, performing wound assessments and measurements, assisting with dressing changes and procedure preparation using sterile technique, and applying UrgoK2 compression therapy for venous ulcer management. I enjoy educating patients on wound care, compression therapy, and treatment adherence to help them stay on track.
Alongside my clinical work, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and gained classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant/Intern. I bring that communication and education background into healthcare by focusing on clarity, engagement, and individualized support—especially when coordinating care and helping patients feel confident in their next steps.
