I worked at ARUP laboratories for a little over a year in exception handling. ARUP labs receives thousands of biological samples every day for a variety of medical tests. If for any of the hundreds of ways things could go wrong (e.g., sample expired), exception handling would contact the client electronically and/or over the phone and work with them to find a resolution.
