Mariyam Mary

I’m a Student at NYU Shanghai studying Electronics engineering, and I bring hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, cross-cultural communication, and event coordination. I’m especially drawn to opportunities with global engagement and global impact, where clear communication and community focus matter every day.

At YMCA Mongolia — Global Alternative Tourism Network (GATN), I provided translation and interpretation support for international volunteer teams. I assisted students in rural provinces with English learning and communication activities, and I facilitated cross-cultural exchange by introducing participants to Mongolian nomadic culture and traditions while also supporting volunteer coordination and community engagement activities.

Before that, at Khylar bolon huuhdiin nudnii emneleg Optometry Hospital, I scheduled and confirmed appointments and handled patient support with a service-focused mindset. I also worked on practical responsibilities like adjusting and repairing spectacles, assisting with frame selection, and cleaning and sterilizing equipment—keeping care organized, reliable, and respectful.

I bring strong personal and public-facing strengths, including public speaking, teamwork, time management, presentation skills, and community engagement. I’m motivated by recognition like a Gold medal in the National Russian Language Olympiad 2024 and “The Top Student in the Capital 2024,” and I’m ready to apply that drive to meaningful, people-centered work.
