What I'm looking for

I’m looking to continue teaching ESL with small-group language support, clear assessments, and collaborative, student-centered planning—where I can adapt resources and help learners build confidence in reading, speaking, and pronunciation.

I’m an ESL teacher with 20 years of classroom and remote experience helping learners build confidence in English. I’ve taught basic English grammar, reading, conversations speaking, pronunciation and intonation, and I’m energized by adapting instruction to meet each student’s needs.

Most recently, I’ve worked as an ESL Teacher (Independent Contractor) with Polly English (Remote, Singapore). I modified instructional resources and used personal interest to meet the needs of each student, focusing on language foundations through engaging, skill-building lessons.

Previously, I served as a Specialized ESL Teacher for 2nd-5th Grades at Carter Park Elementary in Ft. Worth, TX, working with ESL students new to the United States. I embedded linguistic accommodations and used ESL best instructional practices in small group settings to accelerate English language development and grade-level content mastery.

My earlier experience includes being an ESL Tutor/Independent Contractor with VIP Kid (Remote/Beijing, China) and classroom teaching roles for Pre-K through 2nd grades. I practiced classroom management with positive reinforcement, collaborated on differentiated instruction, and monitored and evaluated student progress through assessments and observations, including leading parent-teacher conferences and supporting professional development.
