Laurel Engle

Emergency and family nurse practitioner delivering evidence-based, high-acuity care—now seeking remote telehealth.
What I'm looking for
I’m a fellowship-trained Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner, board certified in Family and Emergency Medicine, with 5+ years of NP experience in high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environments. I’m multi-state licensed and known for autonomous clinical decision-making, patient triage, and evidence-based care.
In my current roles, I manage high patient volumes—often 20–25 patients per shift in a Level 2 Trauma Center setting, and 20–35 per shift across emergency and urgent care locations. I perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, develop differential diagnoses, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and coordinate disposition decisions while maintaining legal and ethical standards.
I also bring strong digital care experience, using patient portals and remote messaging to communicate results and care plans while supporting continuity of care. I document efficiently across EMR systems including Meditech and Epic, and I educate patients and families clearly to support follow-up and outcomes.
Before my NP career, I completed a 12-month emergency medicine fellowship with 1,500+ clinical hours across trauma, pediatrics, orthopedics, radiology, ultrasound, anesthesia, and critical care. Earlier as an RN—including Charge Nurse and Supervisor responsibilities—I helped lead staffing, throughput, and unit operations, building a foundation in teamwork and safe patient flow.
