Kwabena Addo
@kwabenaaddo
Data scientist and ML practitioner with finance background, reducing validation time using ML.
What I'm looking for
I am a data scientist and machine learning practitioner with a B.Sc. in Finance and postgraduate ML certification from The Machine Learning Institute. I combine financial domain knowledge with hands-on ML to deliver practical data-driven solutions.
At the Receiver's Office I led data validation efforts using vectorization, cosine similarity and Bayesian models, cutting validation time from six weeks to four days on average. I also implemented wealth segmentation with silhouette analysis and KMeans clustering to inform distributions under Ghana's Act930.
I have experience across financial institutions and government service, including internships at Ecobank and PwC and national service with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Internal Audit Bureau, where I audited accounting returns for missions abroad and performed asset valuation work.
Technically, I work with Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow), NLP, LLM prompting and fine-tuning techniques, time series and deep learning. I prioritize reproducibility, performance optimization and delivering measurable business impact.
