At ShopriteX, I design, build and run three internal platforms for the Shoprite Group’s data, analytics and engineering teams: a multi-tenant Amazon EKS platform, a private data API platform, and a Snowflake data platform. I’ve made service onboarding self-service through Terraform, Helm and GitOps, and built a YAML-based path for deploying Snowflake domains.
I designed the Snowflake domain layer for 12 business domains and co-designed its access model, reducing functional roles in one account from 135 to about 40. I also own IAM as code across four AWS accounts, and designed continuity tests that check how core services recover from failures.
Before ShopriteX, I built AWS infrastructure and event-driven services at Capitec, and worked on cloud platforms and customer-facing applications at Old Mutual. I write design documents, runbooks and platform guides, and use reviews and walkthroughs to help teams work independently.
