I’m a diploma-trained Building Technologist and Clerk of Works, specializing in building code compliance, construction plan review, and site inspections. I interpret architectural drawings, engineering blueprints, and technical specifications to assess compliance with applicable codes and project standards.
In my current role as Clerk of Works for Building Code & Compliance Oversight, I review design documents before and during construction and identify workmanship deficiencies, material non-conformances, and potential code violations. I prepare structured daily and weekly compliance reports and maintain comprehensive site records covering inspection outcomes and regulatory compliance activities.
I also supported plan review and permit documentation in a Site Clerk role, keeping drawing registers and permit records current while coordinating communication between engineers, contractors, and suppliers. I escalated non-conformances to supervising engineers to help ensure work proceeded according to approved drawings and specifications.
Through site and infrastructure inspections with construction firms and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), I built hands-on experience in quality checks, safety compliance enforcement, and field data collection.
