Jonathan Racaud

I'm a software engineer who works across different levels of a system, from embedded systems to mobile applications, SDKs, and backend services. I like to understand the broader system and the goals behind a project, then make technical decisions that support those goals.

Throughout my career, I have worked across these different layers, from building embedded products and their companion applications to developing an iOS SDK for the automotive industry. My work extends beyond implementation: I contribute to architecture and API design, document systems, and capture the reasoning behind technical decisions throughout a project's lifecycle.

In my free time, I build projects to explore technologies and ideas. Through NC-750, I experiment with how privacy-oriented and user-controlled software can be designed. Its first application, Mirror, grew from that exploration into a shipped AI-assisted application that uses LLMs to guide users through a structured interview and generate a portable personal profile. It supports both local and hosted AI providers, with an emphasis on keeping users in control of their data and provider choices.

Outside of technical work, my time goes to my homelab, music, video games, cinema, and discovering new things and cultures.
