Currently working towards board certification in inpatient obstetrics. Trained in labor and delivery, postpartum care, level 2 NICU, level 1 nursery, operating room circulating for cesarean sections, and prenatal non-stress testing.

Managed care for 4-6 patients on medicine-telemetry, medical-surgical, and progressive care units. Performed admission and focused assessments, provided education to patients regarding medications and disease management.

Completed externship in women and children’s services, assisting registered nurses with gathering assessment data and completing discharge instructions. Provided education related to postpartum aftercare and potential complications, and prepared sterile fields for procedures.

Oversaw care for clients diagnosed with rare chromosomal and systemic disorders, administering medications including enteral feedings. Attended various therapeutic sessions and collaborative meetings with pediatricians, physical and occupational therapists, and teachers to develop personalized care plans.

Completed a 300-hour rotation in labor and delivery as part of final semester capstone. Assisted in the assessment of antepartum and postpartum patients, attended deliveries, and completed post-operative care for cesarean sections.

Completed specialty rotations in medical-surgical, orthopedics, medical progressive care, and OB-GYN. Prioritized nursing care based on acuity to manage up to five patients simultaneously.
