What I'm looking for

I’m looking for an entry-level, lab-focused research role where I can apply molecular biology, cell culture, and advanced microscopy—work in a collaborative team, learn rigorous experimental design, and grow toward independent research in biomedical or genetics projects.

I’m a Biomedical Sciences Master’s thesis student focused on experimental research using Drosophila melanogaster, with a strong foundation across molecular biology, cell culture, and microscopy. I’m currently working in the Laboratory of Development and Homeostasis of Drosophila, where I build rigorous, lab-ready skills and translate observations into quantitative outcomes.

In my work, I develop hands-on capability with stereoscopes, fluorescent stereoscopes, and confocal microscopes, including high-resolution optical sectioning and fluorescence-based identification of labelled specimens. I also strengthen neurobiological methods through larval brain dissection and immunohistochemistry, and I analyse microscopy data using FIJI for quantitative and qualitative assessment of neural tissue.

Earlier, as a Research Assistant/Bachelor Thesis Student, I gained experience culturing and maintaining cell lines, designing and conducting cell-based experiments, and supporting DNA damage assessment using the comet assay. I also built broader lab competence through PCR and DNA isolation, fluorescence microscopy, and theoretical flow cytometry exposure—plus forensics-oriented experience such as pyrosequencing and age analysis using fly larvae, alongside reference management with Zotero.
