Hanson Appiah Adu

At Iris Place Rehabilitation Centre, I support rehabilitation activities for people recovering from substance use disorders and addiction. I assist with client engagement, documentation, and daily activities while observing assessments, counselling, and recovery planning under professional supervision.

As a Social Work Intern at the Judicial Service of Ghana (District Court – DOVVSU), I worked alongside the Probation Officer to support vulnerable clients and families. I observed court proceedings and social work interventions, and assisted with case documentation and client follow-up where appropriate.

My placements have helped me develop practical understanding of psychosocial interventions, child protection, probation services, professional ethics, and report writing. I’m a final-year Bachelor of Arts in Social Work student at the University of Ghana.

I’ve also led colleagues in organising and implementing a sanitation project in a local community. As Vice President of the Debaters Club, I mentored members and represented my school in debate competitions.
