Flavia Canastra
@flaviacanastra
Natural capital consultant at NBI translating ecosystem-service valuations and nature-related risk into finance and regulatory evidence.
What I'm looking for
At NBI — Natural Business Intelligence, I advise organisations and municipalities on natural capital, biodiversity and ecosystem-service strategy, assessing whether nature claims can withstand regulatory and buyer scrutiny. I led two ecosystem-service and nature-based finance strategies that produced 10 financial instruments, supported by their baselines, valuations and compliance architecture.
I also quantified forest carbon across approximately 30 properties and contributed to designing a Portuguese voluntary nature-credit and biodiversity certification scheme. My work connects carbon and nature evidence with frameworks including CSRD, TNFD and the EU Taxonomy.
With Corredor do Rio Leça — Associação de Municípios, I delivered Portugal’s first Special Water Management Plan by coordinating six partner entities. Earlier, at Universidade da Coruña, I assessed Natura 2000 habitats and studied land governance across collectively-owned commons. I’m now focused on nature-related risk and nature finance.
