I am looking for opportunities that allow me to apply my geology and environmental science knowledge while contributing to meaningful projects in conservation and research.

My name is Emily Skiera, and I am an aspiring geologist currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Geology at Kent State University. I have a solid academic foundation, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Loyola University Chicago, where I was recognized on the Dean's List for my academic excellence. My education has equipped me with a diverse skill set, including data analysis, sedimentology, and structural geology.

In addition to my academic achievements, I have gained practical experience as a Student Research Assistant, where I designed and maintained stream systems to study microbial DNA activity. My role involved conducting DNA extractions and PCR amplifications, which honed my laboratory skills. Furthermore, my position as a Park Engagement Specialist at the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park allowed me to lead public outreach events and collaborate with various stakeholders, enhancing my communication and organizational abilities.
