Diogo Barroso

I’m a Mobile Developer specialized in Flutter (Dart), with hands-on experience delivering real-world data collection applications in research and field environments. I bring a strong foundation in software architecture, secure API integration, and offline-first systems designed to work reliably under challenging conditions.

I’ve designed and deployed a production-ready Flutter application used in field conditions for agricultural data collection. It supports offline-first architecture and GPS metadata capture, while integrating secure authentication workflows using JWT-based authentication via REST APIs.

I adapted and extended the application architecture to create structured datasets for grapevine phenological stage classification and grapevine variety identification, enabling the collection of 5,000+ labeled observations for machine learning applications. Through collaboration with field technicians and research stakeholders, I helped ensure data quality and usability.

I’m also an active member of the StarLab research group, collaborating with researchers and studio/engineering partners on applied technology and software development projects for agriculture and viticulture. I’m now seeking to transition into industry to build scalable, user-focused mobile solutions.
