What I'm looking for

I am looking for opportunities that allow me to apply my research in practical machine learning projects and contribute to innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.

I am a dedicated doctoral researcher in applied mathematics with a focus on nonconvex and sparse optimal control problems governed by elliptic partial differential equations. My work at the Center of Mathematical Modeling and Optimization (MODEMAT) in Quito, Ecuador, allows me to explore optimization problems that have significant applications in machine learning. I have published research that contributes to the field, including a paper in the COMPAMA Bulletin and another submitted to Computational Optimization and Applications.

As an associated professor at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, I teach a variety of mathematics courses, including Numerical Linear Algebra and Non-linear Finite Dimensional Optimization. My teaching philosophy emphasizes practical applications, and I incorporate programming in Matlab and Python into my curriculum to solve real-world problems. Additionally, I have experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, where I have successfully led projects such as a time and cost estimator for New York City taxis, utilizing my expertise in data analysis and model selection.
