My Career
I started in IT with a strong foundation in web development, and I currently work as IT and Application Management at a bank in Ethiopia, where I'm part of an engineering team building internal systems used in daily banking operations. My day-to-day work spans the full development lifecycle — not just writing code, but scoping requirements, coordinating UAT (user acceptance testing) with stakeholders, and producing the documentation (action plans, progress reports, sign-off documents) that keeps a project accountable and on track.
Two projects define my recent work:
A MERN-stack Project Management System built for my engineering team, used to track tasks and progress across the group.
An Engineering Services System (property estimation request management) for the bank, which I've taken through eight system revisions and a full UAT cycle — working directly with business stakeholders like loan officers to confirm the system met real operational needs before sign-off.
Alongside my bank role, I'm building a side venture offering tech services to Ethiopian small businesses — starting with a sales and inventory tracking system, with a debt/credit tracking module planned next. This has sharpened my instinct for building software that's practical and immediately useful for non-technical business owners, not just technically impressive.
Technical Skills
MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js (MERN), C# / ASP.NET Core, Next.js, PHP,Laravel — I choose the stack based on the problem rather than defaulting to one tool.
What I'm Looking For
I'm looking to take on remote/freelance work building web applications, internal tools, dashboards, and business systems — particularly for companies that value clear communication and reliable delivery over just fast turnaround. I'm especially interested in projects involving workflow/process systems, internal tooling, or small-business software, since that's where my strongest real-world experience sits.
