At Health First Medical Group, I lead the surgical coding team while coding outpatient physician charges across complex specialties. I conduct formal coding reviews and provide targeted education to providers and staff on procedures and coding techniques.
I interpret medical reports and hospital EMRs to apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and correct sequencing. I maintain 95%+ accuracy while managing more than 100 claims per day in Epic work queues.
My surgical coding experience spans trauma, general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, colorectal, and other acute and chronic care specialties. I work carefully within HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations and medical-legal requirements.
