Chioma Okafor

I’m a motivated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) graduate with strong academic performance and hands-on clinical exposure across hospital and community-focused settings. I’m passionate about community pharmacy practice, patient counselling, and public health education, and I enjoy translating drug information into clear, patient-centered guidance.

Through my clinical rotations and pharmacy clinical experience, I counseled patients on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and adherence. Under supervision, I supported dispensing prescriptions with an emphasis on accuracy and patient safety, and I helped clinical pharmacists during ward activities and outpatient services.

I also strengthened my practical clinical skills by interpreting prescriptions, accurately dispensing medications under pharmacist supervision, and providing patient education on correct dosing, administration routes, and possible side effects and drug–drug interactions. I supported clinical decision-making by checking and recording vital signs, including blood pressure and other basic parameters, and monitoring glucose where needed.

Alongside clinical training, I’ve built community impact through public health outreach—participating in cancer awareness, fertility awareness, and mental health awareness initiatives to reduce stigma and improve early detection. I’m seeking a community pharmacy internship to enhance practical knowledge of medications, improve patient counselling skills, and contribute effectively to quality pharmaceutical care.
