Aurelia Cristiana Barbu

At Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, I deliver pharmacology education and scientific presentations to medical and healthcare students in Romanian and English. I develop evidence-based educational content and adapt complex scientific information for different audiences.

As a Community Pharmacist in Romania, I provided evidence-based counselling and communicated treatment information to patients. I collaborated with physicians and other healthcare professionals and participated in pharmacovigilance and medication-safety activities.

In my PhD research at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, I investigate cholinergic and dopaminergic interactions in the enteric nervous system using rat ileum organ bath studies. I design experimental protocols, analyze data and prepare scientific reports, manuscripts and conference abstracts.

My work also includes six peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations at national and international conferences. I’m interested in developing a career in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Rare Diseases, where I can connect scientific evidence with healthcare professional engagement.
