At Centro de Estudos em Petrologia e Geoquímica (CPGq) - UFRGS, I participated in research characterizing the geological, petrographic, and mineralogical features of rocks and investigating their evolution. I planned and carried out fieldwork, geological mapping, outcrop descriptions, and systematic sampling.
I prepared and processed geological samples, including crushing, grinding, sieving, and physical mineral separation. I also prepared materials for optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), Raman, and FTIR characterization.
At Instituto de Pesquisas Hidráulicas (IPH) - UFRGS, I carried out physical experiments simulating density currents and turbidity-flow deposition, then organized and processed experimental and grain-size data. I also used MODFLOW to model groundwater flow and contaminant transport, and PHREEQC to study geochemical equilibrium and mineral dissolution and precipitation.
I'm pursuing a master's in Geosciences (Geochemistry) at UFRGS, researching petrology, mineral chemistry, and the evolution of alkaline-carbonatite complexes, with a focus on rare earth element and niobium concentration processes for mineral exploration. My work includes nine papers presented at scientific conferences, two submitted manuscripts as co-author, and an article in preparation as first author.
