Anna Kathryn Baer

At the University of Colorado Boulder, I studied Astrophysical & Planetary Sciences and used Python to analyze astronomy data. In my Star Formation Data Analysis project, I examined surface density using UNCOVER/MegaScience data, applying masking, error propagation, and Monte Carlo methods.

I also developed a process to simulate neutron star or black hole formation through a supernova, testing how metallicity and mass affected the mass gap. For my N-Body Dynamics project, I wrote functions to model planetary systems and animate their motion in two and three dimensions.

As a Nominated Participant with NSCL on Environmental Science & Sustainability, I participated in environmental science simulations and led a project analyzing fast fashion’s environmental impacts and recommending alternatives. I’m seeking an internship, entry-level role, or similar opportunity in astrophysics, astronomy, aerospace, or energy, where I can contribute while learning new skills.
