Andres Salazar

I am a physician with postgraduate training in Clinical Epidemiology and Healthcare Services Management, interested in roles where clinical knowledge, scientific evidence, research methodology, and healthcare strategy intersect.

My medical training has provided me with experience in clinical assessment, patient care, medical decision-making, and healthcare processes. Alongside my clinical background, my MSc in Clinical Epidemiology has strengthened my skills in critical appraisal of scientific literature, epidemiological methods, clinical research, evidence synthesis, study design, data interpretation, and scientific communication. I have experience working with databases and research tools including MEDLINE/Ovid, Embase, Mendeley, Excel, and R/RStudio, and have applied PRISMA-based methodology in academic research.

My postgraduate specialization in Healthcare Services Management has additionally developed my understanding of healthcare systems, quality management, patient safety, healthcare processes, and organizational and strategic decision-making.

My master's research involved a scoping review of homeopathic interventions for acute respiratory diseases, including the development of the research question, eligibility criteria, systematic literature searches, study screening, data extraction, and synthesis of evidence across 33 studies.

I am particularly interested in opportunities in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Real-World Evidence (RWE), Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Medical Writing, Medical Safety/Pharmacovigilance, Healthcare Consulting, and healthcare-related AI. I am especially interested in positions that allow me to work with multidisciplinary or international teams and apply evidence-based approaches to clinical, scientific, and strategic problems.

I am fluent in both Spanish and English and am comfortable working in bilingual and international environments. I am open to full-time or part-time opportunities, including remote positions with international organizations and companies, as well as on-site or hybrid opportunities in Colombia.

My long-term goal is to build a career at the intersection of medicine, clinical evidence, research, and healthcare strategy while contributing to organizations working to improve healthcare outcomes and decision-making.
