Amani Kersey

I’m a political science student at Howard University with a minor in sociology and legal communications, and I’m passionate about learning how people, systems, and law intersect. I bring strong communication, responsibility, and leadership into everything I do.

As a Camp Counselor, I supervised 20 children at once in a safe environment and supported their growth through guidance, resources, and age-appropriate activities. I also mentored campers to build teamwork and social skills, and I resolved conflicts and disagreements to keep the day running smoothly.

In pool and recreation roles, I performed pool maintenance and cleaning, assisted children with care and support, and helped with population control efforts. When needed, I provided first aid, using calm judgment and clear communication.

I also worked as a Brand Ambassador and cashier, helping customers with purchases for a smooth shopping experience while handling transactions efficiently and keeping the space organized. Through leadership in groups like HU Future Law Scholars and the National Council For Negro Women, I’ve developed an outgoing, service-minded approach to responsibility and mentorship.
