At CARE International in Yemen, I conduct fiduciary and compliance reviews across a multi-donor humanitarian portfolio, including USAID, ECHO, EU, GIZ and WFP. I also serve as CARE's focal point for independent spot-check reviews of WFP-funded General Food Distribution projects.
I led fraud investigations involving evidence collection, interviews and remedial control recommendations. These investigations identified and resolved multiple fraudulent activities, safeguarding approximately US$200,000 in organizational and donor resources.
As Internal Auditor & Compliance Officer, I act as Internal Audit Manager during the manager's annual leave, leading a team of five auditors and overseeing the risk-based audit plan. I also conduct partner and vendor due diligence, field verification and integrity training in English and Arabic.
Before CARE, I worked in financial audit at Deloitte in Yemen, progressing from Audit Senior in the oil and gas sector to Audit Assistant Manager. I planned and executed statutory audits for more than 50 clients, and at Ethraa Alsharq I currently support remote external audit assignments and provide bookkeeping and accounting and audit consultation services.
