What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role that advances gut–brain axis and gut dysbiosis research using hands-on molecular microbiology skills and responsible fieldwork, while continuing to grow in science communication and mentorship.

I’m an MPhil student at the University of Karachi specializing in applied parasitology and microbiology, and I’m driven by research that connects biological mechanisms to real-world health. My work focuses on the gut–brain axis and gut dysbiosis in neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, including autism and schizophrenia, where I’m building practical skills from study design through lab workflows.

In molecular biology, I work confidently with DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis as part of end-to-end experimental pipelines. I also bring experience in microbial characterization, including Shiga toxin analysis, along with biosafety-compliant documentation to keep research both rigorous and responsible.

I’ve complemented lab work with field-based investigation, conducting gut parasite research in elephants at Karachi Zoo. I collected samples and performed microscopic analysis to assess parasitic load and health markers, strengthening my ability to translate field observations into measurable research outputs.

I also enjoy teaching and mentorship. As an International Academic Mentor, I provide 1:1 science mentorship by turning complex biology concepts into clear, structured lessons and study plans, and I apply the same science communication mindset to writing and research presentation.
