Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Wildlife Veterinary Specialist to join our team, focusing on the health and rehabilitation of wildlife species. This role will be instrumental in providing veterinary care, conducting health assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of various wildlife populations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough health assessments and diagnostics on a diverse range of wildlife species, utilizing advanced veterinary techniques and tools.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for injured or sick wildlife, ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Collaborate with wildlife rehabilitation teams to facilitate the recovery of animals and coordinate release back into their natural habitats.
- Perform surgical procedures as required, adhering to best practices in wildlife medicine.
- Engage in research initiatives focused on wildlife health and conservation, contributing to scientific literature and best practice guidelines.
- Educate and mentor staff, interns, and volunteers on wildlife care and veterinary practices.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree from an accredited institution.
