Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Lead Water Colorist to join our artistic team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in watercolor techniques to lead projects that define and elevate our visual narrative. You will collaborate closely with illustrators, designers, and project managers to create stunning watercolor art that resonates with our audience and aligns with our brand vision.
Responsibilities
- Lead the artistic direction and execution of watercolor projects, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet project requirements and timelines.
- Mentor and guide junior artists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages creative expression.
- Develop and refine watercolor techniques and styles, setting a standard for excellence in the team’s artistic output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute artwork for various mediums, including print and digital.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions, providing constructive critique to enhance team performance and artistic quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, continuously seeking opportunities to incorporate new ideas into our projects.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a watercolor artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proven experience in leading and managing creative projects from conception to completion.
- Deep understanding of watercolor techniques, color theory, and composition principles.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Preferred:
- Experience in digital illustration tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with project management software and creative collaboration tools.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a creative environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in traditional watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet, dry brush, and layering.
- Proficiency in digital art software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Understanding of different paper types and watercolor materials, and how they affect the final output.
