Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Veterinary Attendant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations of our veterinary support team, ensuring the highest standards of care for our animal patients and exceptional service for their owners. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of veterinary attendants, promoting professional development and best practices in animal care.
- Coordinate daily operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures, ensuring proper protocols and care standards are adhered to.
- Provide direct animal care, including feeding, bathing, and administering medications as directed by veterinarians.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' care, treatment plans, and any concerns they may have.
- Implement and uphold safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary setting, with a focus on animal care and support.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing or mentoring veterinary staff.
- Strong understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to animal care.
Preferred:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent training.
- Experience with veterinary software systems and record-keeping.
